CLASSIC TOMATO SANDWICH

Instructions

1-Prepare the Tomatoes:
Wash and slice the tomatoes into thick, juicy rounds. Season them with a pinch of salt and freshly ground black pepper. This enhances their flavor.

2-Cook the Bacon (if using):
If you’re including bacon in your sandwich, cook it until it’s crispy, following your preferred method (pan-frying, baking, or microwave). Drain on paper towels to remove excess grease.
3- Toast the Bread (optional):
• If you prefer your sandwich with toasted bread, lightly toast the slices in a toaster or on a griddle. This step adds a delightful crunch to your sandwich.
4- Assemble the Sandwich:
• Lay out the slices of bread on a clean surface.
• If you like, spread a thin layer of mayonnaise or mustard on one side of each slice. This adds a tangy kick to the sandwich.
• Place lettuce leaves on two of the bread slices.
• Next, add the tomato slices on top of the lettuce.
• If you’re using bacon, add it now for that extra crunch and savory flavor.
• Lay the cheese slices on top of the tomatoes. This helps bind the ingredients together.
• If you enjoy a bit of zing, add thinly sliced red onion.
• For a touch of freshness, tuck in a few fresh basil leaves.
• Top each sandwich with the remaining slices of bread, condiment side down.
5- Slice and Serve:
• Use a sharp knife to slice the sandwiches in half diagonally, creating two triangular halves.
• Serve your classic tomato sandwiches immediately for the best taste and texture.
